Ryan Montbeau came as a total surprise to us. We Googled him and found hid web site, which is great. He’s one of those rare musician/writer/singer who can be as entertaining alone as when he’s accompanied by other talented players. We saw him solo and were amazed. He’s not flashy but his voice and guitar playing are expressive, dexterous and remarkable; his lyrics are poetry.

At Wednesday’s virtual Town Hall meeting, Obama responded to pre-selected questions, a practice that has a deeply disturbing ring to it. Certain of the press corps cried “foul,” most notably CBS’ Chip Reid and columnist Helen Thomas.
