In a story that would make Horatio Alger proud, upon returning from Gaza where he served as a war correspondent for rightie site PJTV, Sam (Joe) Wurzelbacher (AKA “Joe the Plumber”) is now a GOP adviser. An organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers invited Mr. Plumber to speak at their weekly meeting, in which they chart GOP strategy each week.
Politico and others reported Joe’s appearance, some suggesting that he may have been booked to stimulate interest in the 9AM meeting.
“In case you weren’t planning to attend CWG (Conservative Working Group) tomorrow morning, you might want to reconsider because Joe the Plumber will be joining us!” Kimberly Wallner, an aide to South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, wrote in a message to her e-mail list this afternoon.”
Mr. Plumber’s building himself quite a resume. I wonder what happened to his record deal? Perhaps the GOP would be better off to considering channeling “Alexander the Great” than hiring “Joe the Plumber.
