Focus on the Family has new “eyes and ears” in Washington, DC in the form of a new DC-based lobbying office, according to former Bush aide and admitted plagiarist, Tim Goeglein, the group’s vice president of external relations.
Goeglein, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation and former aide on conservative and Christian issues to President Bush, says “If social conservatism is the spear, then Focus is the tip of the spear.”
Focus on the Family has long been in the vanguard of the religious-right, waging war on everything from young boys who wear female costumes for Trick or Treat to Sponge Bob Squarepants.
Formerly headed by Dr. James Dobson, Focus on the Family is a mammoth nonprofit that ranks among the nation’s biggest evangelical ministries. Its ability to raise funds has long endeared it to the GOP, with which it has been strongly aligned. “Focus”- flaunts its ability to recommend and show its supporters how to engage in political action while retaining tax-exempt status.
Wonder if anyone called “Welcome Wagon”?
