Hate monger Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
Republicans lie, repeat the lie, broadcast the lie, lie about lying and then lie about lying about lying.
They also revise history, as evidenced by the oft-repeated claim that theirs is the “party of Lincoln,” which I would conjecture sends Abe spinning in his grave, since today’s Republic Party is the equivalent of a Bizarro version of Lincoln’s party. They are RINOs by comparison.
Look at what Bush and his lackeys did in the waning days of his presidency and ever since he left. Their goal is to have our kids naming highways and schools after him in twenty years. BTW, I still call it WASHINGTON NATIONAL Airport, not RONALD REAGAN Washington National if you get my drift.
So as GOP revisionism is in full swing, it now extends to the 1998 hate crime/murder of Matthew Shepard, which despite sworn courtroom testimony the right chooses to describe (at the suggestion of one of its perps) as a “robbery gone bad”.

On the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) Wednesday called the hate crimes bill named after Shepard “a hoax”. This is the same “twisted sister” who less than a month ago accused dems of having a “tar baby” on their hands (Referring to controversial post-TARP Fund bonuses), a term that carries negative racial connotations.
Spin, father Abe…spin.

You should read the Word Press Blog of the Day – this guy can’t draw breath between the lies and vitriol.
(I’m assuming it’s a white, male, Republican doing the blog, probably from North Carolina. I know that’s stereotyping but after Virginia Foxx’s bigotry, I could care less.)
I’ve seen it attributed both to Lenin and Joseph Goebbels– both seem to be identified with it (along with WaPo’s Charles Krauthammer, but we know he just stole it).
I’ll check out the WordPress BotD, thanks for the tip. While outrage is understandable, I’m convinced it gets us nowhere except perhaps the cardio ward. But it’s easy to lose your temper when things get so maddening.

Paul, that was a hate crime – he was murdered because of his orientation. I wonder what would happen if gays took to the streets to kill straights because of their orientation?
I guess I’d have to “come out of the closet,” dressed in my wife’s clothes, which would indeed be a challenge, since she’s half my size!
