Apologies? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Apologies

The phrase “Nattering Naybobs of Negativism” is but one of many reasons I’m glad Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) appeared on Blind Woof Blintzen’s uh, “Situation Room” in the face of cacophonous criticism from the GOP. Continue reading

Binge and Purge: The Wedding and “The Wire”

A Penny For Your Thoughts, A Penny For Hope

For years I hated pennies… I once collected them.  I used to examine every penny, looking for an “Indian Head.”  Copper became expensive and I felt pennies waste copper. As much as I loved pennies as a child, relishing “penny” … Continue reading

Stewart v. Kramer (Ouch!)

I missed the live broadcast of the Daily Show Friday night but watched it Saturday afternoon via Huffpo. Fist, kudos to Kramer for showing up.  Jon Stewart was clearly vexed by comments Kramer had made on Joe Blow Scarborough’s (and … Continue reading

Obama’s Recovery Program: It’s a Rule, Everyone Has a Stool

When President Obama signed the economic recovery bill, he made good on a promise he revealed to Americans as a multi-pronged approach, the components of which cannot be separated–they are integrated, like the legs of a stool. Continue reading
